Where your money goes

  • Registered charity: The Munich tax office recognises the association as a charity (gemeinnützig). Its purposes: youth welfare, help for victims of crime, and equality between women and men.
  • Volunteer-run: In Germany we all work as volunteers, and there's no marketing machine behind us.
  • Low admin costs: Only 6% of our spending goes on administration and operations, and in Germany we are 100% volunteers (annual report 2025).
  • Straight to Faridpur: Your donation goes to our partner Shapla Mohila Sangstha, which coordinates the project on the ground. Chanchala and Shyamal are experienced with the accounting requirements of Western aid organisations.

Frequently asked questions

Do I get a donation receipt?

For German tax purposes, your bank statement is enough for donations of up to 300 € per calendar year.

For more than 300 €, we're happy to send you a receipt. Add your postal or email address to the payment reference, or send it to us through the contact form.

I already give regularly through Betterplace. Do I need to change anything?

No. Your regular donation carries on as before. Thank you so much! Betterplace sends you your donation receipt automatically in February or March of the following year.

Why does Betterplace show an extra amount?

Betterplace keeps 2.5 % of each donation as a transaction fee. On page 2 of its form, Betterplace also suggests a voluntary tip for Betterplace itself. You can simply set that amount to 0 €.
